Major General Patrick L. Gaydon

2023 Academic Hall of Fame Inductee

Major General Patrick Gaydon grew up in Muncy, Pennsylvania and graduated from Muncy High School in 1990. He is the son of Marie Gaydon, who lives in Muncy, and the late Lewis Gaydon.  He is the oldest of seven siblings, all Muncy High School graduates.

After high school, he attended the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York, graduating in 1994 and receiving a commission as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army.

Major General Gaydon currently serves as the Director of the Joint Futures Cross-Functional Team on the Joint Staff in the Pentagon, Washington, DC. He is currently a two-star General in the United States Army

Throughout his career, Major General Gaydon has served in both command and staff positions.  He has spent over eight years commanding formations at the battery, battalion, and brigade levels.

He has served at Fort Sill, Oklahoma; Fort Lewis, Washington; Fort Carson, Colorado; Fort Leavenworth, Kansas; Seoul, South Korea; Fort Bliss, Texas; Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania; Fort Hood, Texas; Schofield Barracks, Hawaii; Austin, Texas; and The Pentagon, Washington DC.

His operational and combat deployments include Operation Sea Signal, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba; Operation Enduring Freedom, Kandahar, Afghanistan; and Operation Inherent Resolve, Baghdad, Iraq.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the United States Military Academy and a Master of Strategic Studies from the United States Army War College.  He has earned executive education certificates from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the University of Kansas, and Carnegie Mellon University.

He has numerous military awards and decorations including the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, and Bronze Star Medal.

He is married to the former Samantha Pasco, of Spokane, Washington, and they have one son.

I would like to congratulate Major General Patrick L. Gaydon as the 26th inductee into the Muncy High School Academic Hall of Fame.  Patrick is being inducted for his service to our country.
